Thought up shortly after the release of the first book, this site was partially planned in late 2004, and all that was needed was hosting. When the hosting was finally purchased, there was not enough time to put into the venture, so it was put on hold.

Then after the release of Touching Darkness, the layout graphics were made after a renewed love of the series, but the time was still not adequate to put into a site if it was to thrive and flourish in the vast abyss we call the internet. However, that changed in late 2005.

It seemed that the stars and planets were aligned. The time was right. The coding of the layout commenced, and the content was begun. And in January 2006, The Secret Hour made its debut.

SCOTT WESTERFELD has written five science-fiction novels for adults and has ghost-written as well. He has two trilogies for young adults, the first of which is the Midnighters series and the second of which is the Uglies series. He has also written two standalone books for Razorbill, with a third on the way.
